Process
1. In your sketchbook, create 2 designs (4"x6") demonstrating a strong foreground and background. These can be based on animals, people, objects, and or architecture. You can do another design for a birthday card or a valentine's day card. 2. Either "redraw" your design on the foam plate or trace your design from your sketchbook. 3. Use a wooden stylus or another pointed object, empress the lines into the foam. But be careful! Don't cut the plate!!!! 4. Using a brayer (roller) evenly roll the ink onto your plate. 5. Place a blank white printmaking paper on top of your print. 6. Press evenly on the paper to rub the image onto the paper. You can use a baren for this. 7. Pull the paper from the plate from a corner. Look amazed :) 8. Wash the plate when done.
