Chuck Close Finger Painting: Grading Rubric
Chuck Close Finger Painting
Objective:
- Students will be able to create a finger painting of a portrait they took using techniques inspired by the artist Chuck Close. 

Procedure:
  1. Look at examples.
  2. Take a photo of yourself or of another person.
  3. Use cropping to zoom in on your subject and change the image to black and white.
  4. Get a piece of paper and create a 1" border.
  5. Sketch the contours of the portrait using your 4H pencil. 
  6. Practice using the tempera paint on another piece of paper to achieve your values.
  7. Fill in space using the values you see. Pay attention to the texture and angle of your marks.
  8. Critique your final product.

Requirements:

  1. Personal Image
  2. Value (at least 5 values)
  3. No Graphite Visible
  4. Space (goes over sides to fill space)
  5. Critique/ Reflection
