Ceramics II

Prerequisite: Completion of Ceramics I with a minimum grade of C

Course Numbers: 1st semester - AR1221 2nd semester - AR1222
Students in Ceramics II will build on techniques and skills learning Ceramics I. Students will also learn the basics of wheel-throwing, including cylinders, bowls, and mugs. Students will focus on expanding hand building skills to create larger complex art pieces. Additional surface decorating techniques and expansion of glazes knowledge will be included. Students will use a pug mill and extruder, mix glazes and stains, and load/unload kilns. Students will build on their Ceramics I knowledge of how to design, make, and analyze art, with an ongoing focus on clay art from around the world. HEAR
